Job Description

About AI Residency program: Established in 2019 and proud to be the first and most reputed AI Residency program in Vietnam, VinAI continues its signatory endeavor to identify and nurture young AI talents and train them to be future scientists, engineers, and leaders in AI. Led by the residents themselves, groundbreaking contributions in AI research have been conducted and published in top-notch venues, instantly making VinAI Residency program one of the most prestigious residency programs worldwide for young talents. More than 50% of its first-generation residents, mostly home-grown in Vietnam, have received Ph.D. admissions (with full scholarships) to the top 20 universities in AI in the world (e.g., CMU, UCLA, the University of Texas at Austin, John Hopkins, EPFL). Beyond Vietnam, the program has now frequently received worldwide applications including students from prestigious institutions. The program is designed to address a critical bottleneck in the career development of young talents: The lack of opportunities to gain adequate both research and applied industrial experience at a world-class research facility. We are seeking a passionate program manager for this flagship program. A successful applicant must be trained in graduate studies overseas and passionate about Vietnamese education, aligning with VinAI's strategic plan to put Vietnam on the global AI map.

What you’ll do

Talent development: Design, manage and execute training programs for the residents. You will work closely with VinAI research scientists who will deliver training classes in machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, math, and English to the residents. You will be responsible for designing a well-rounded program which also includes ethical training, team-work, communication and soft skills.
Strategy: Define the strategies to grow the AI residency program, ensuring program objectives align with organizational goals. Define clear program roadmaps, KPIs, execution plan, and ensure commitments are delivered.
Operations: Design, implement, manage and evaluate to further improve activities including team & project matching, onboarding, ongoing learning, internal rotation program, personal and professional development, and graduation.
Engagement: Design activities to foster engagement and community building within the cohorts, strengthen the bond with other teams within VinAI, as well as building a strong alumni network of residents.
Collaboration and partnership: Proactively partner with internal stakeholders within VinAI and external stakeholders such as universities, global institutions, etc., to promote the program. Increase the program brand awareness across different platforms.

Requirements

What you’ll need

M.Sc or higher degree in science, business management or education. The degree needs to be obtained at an institution in an English speaking countries, and not in one of satellite campuses in Vietnam.
Experience in project management with a proven track record.
Outstanding written and oral communication, problem-solving skills, and fluency in English.
Extremely organized, reliable, punctual, accurate, and detail-oriented.
Integrity, honesty, good supervisory (including delegating and conflict resolution), judgment, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred qualifications:
o Familiar with admission process in the US, especially in computer science.
o Experience in talent development, learning & development, or related experience creating, delivering, and measuring high-impact learning.
o Experience in the Technology industry, especially with research and/or AI/Machine Learning.
o Experienced dealing with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
o Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and high-growth environment.
