Headed by its founding director, Dr. Hung H. Bui (formerly of Google DeepMind), this is the first AI research lab in Vietnam created with a focus on top-tier research and publications. The lab enjoys a world-class research facility, including ample access to computing infrastructure and GPUs. In addition, it maintains active research collaboration with other top AI research labs around the world. The current research areas include machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language technologies and reinforcement learning.

Who is VinAI looking for? 

We are currently looking for a (Senior) Software Architect for our ADAS/AD Platform. The successful candidate will have AD features flow responsibility from System to SW architecture down to SW components that realize identified algorithms. We are looking for someone with experience in SW development and architecture who can analyze and create SW design in a dynamic environment. You are a self-starter that can resolve ambiguity and provide focus across multiple domains of expertise.

What you’ll do

  • Clarification and specification of AD features and software requirements
  • AD platform design including the software architecture to consider AD vehicle features breakdown and their horizontal flow from sensing to vehicle motion control through different SW and HW components
  • Perform architectural analysis and create deployment view for target HW
  • Guide SW architects and developers of SW scrum teams in SW algorithms
  • Support Functional Safety and systems team in Technical Safety Concept creation for AD features down to SW Architecture level
  • Support SOTIF analysis activities and specify performance KPIs and mitigations for algorithms inaccuracies of impacted SW components in the SW architecture
  • Cooperate with Cybersecurity, Functional Safety and SOTIF Engineers to make sure that their requirements are addressed properly in the SW requirements, software architecture and detailed design
  • Support in process, methods and tools continuous improvements for SWE.1 to SWE.6
  • Technical evaluation, definition and planning of architectural changes

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive, Electrical, Communication or Computer Engineering
  • 2+ years professional experience with Autonomous Driving System or Software Development
  • 2+ years professional experience with SW development of mathematical concepts as well as algorithms
  • 3+ years professional work experience with embedded software development for safety critical systems (e.g., automotive, aerospace) using C or C++
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO-26262) and SOTIF from System level to SW architecture level
  • Model based development skills using SysML and/or UML (ideally using Enterprise Architect)
  • Experience in the development of embedded systems in POSIX-based OS, QNX or Classical AUTOSAR
  • Knowledge of development processes (e.g ASPICE, version management, change management, reviews)
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English. This role interacts with both external customers and internal management
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and understand how individual tasks interconnect and impact other parts
  • Awareness of AD industry trends, technologies, competitive products, best practices (HW/SW)
  • Familiar with basics of Automated driving systems (e.g., AD functions, AD Sensors, Actuators)

Nice to Have’s

  • Master’s Degree in Automotive, Electrical, Communication, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in SOTIF analysis of Autonomous driving projects in System and/or SW level.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in developing SW applications using Adaptive/Classic AUTOSAR
  • Experience with Agile software engineering methodology
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, FlexRay, SPI, Ethernet
  • Experience with applicable coding standards like MISRA C/C++, AUTOSAR C++
