VinAI Research is a leading research lab with offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Funded by Vin Group, the largest enterprise in Vietnam by capitalization, our mission is to conduct high-impact research that pushes the knowledge frontier in AI and to accelerate applications of AI in Vietnam, the Asia Pacific region, and beyond.

Headed by its founding director, Dr. Hung H. Bui (formerly of Google DeepMind), this is the first AI research lab in Vietnam created with a focus on top-tier research and publications. The lab enjoys a world-class research facility, including ample access to computing infrastructure and GPUs. In addition, it maintains active research collaboration with other top AI research labs around the world. The current research areas include machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language technologies and reinforcement learning.

Experienced-level business development position is responsible for developing business plan and managing the sales promotional activities for assigned account(s)or region(s). Leads internal and external activities related to the management of account(s) or region(s). Develops sales strategies, identifies new opportunities, and serves as liaison between sales and other departments with respect to product improvement needs, new products, and new markets. This position is tailored particularly for VinAI data annotation, data platform and ML Infrastructure products, serving the AI industry, forecasted 554bn by 2024. Having a strong network within automobile industry is an advantage.
This is a remote role (Australia/Singapore/United States/Japan, etc.) and will report to the Head of Data Science at VinAI.

What you’ll do

  • Develop business, sales plan, and process with a strong leadership.
  • Responsible for business development for data annotation, AI platform, ML Infrastructure products and
  • Able to recruit & train high quality sales team.
  • Serve as the primary contact in assigned sales channels.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage planning of customer deliverables: Quotations, Inquiries, market research,
    analysis, writing, document review, or projects.
  • Closely monitors his/her assignments and ensures successful and timely completion of project tasks and
  • Determine relative strengths and weaknesses of our competitors and communicate to regional teams.
  • Represent/Manage company in industry and/or customer conventions.
  • Lead efforts within the customer organizations to gather sales data in a format that will measure the
    effectiveness of the sales organization.
  • Gather and analyze competitive information to assess our relative position for subsequent action.
  • Design and create programs and sales promotions tailored to the unique strengths of the company and
  • Consult customers in developing aftermarket strategies, leads by innovation.
  • Define and realize customer targets according to strategic and operative business planning
  • Customer relationship management across customer organization levels including the coordination,
    preparation and execution of customer meetings and events.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in areas strongly related to Automotive or AI, machine learning and data science.
  • A startup mindset at (pre)-series A stage.
  • Knowledge and experiences with the lifecycle development of deep learning/machine learning/AI models
    and/or MLOps are highly desirable.
  • Existing networks in Automotive ADAS/ADAS, perception, robotics, and AI industry is also desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proven organizational abilities to successfully interact, develop, maintain, and follow through on responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong product and technical knowledge
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (esp. with regard to decision makers and top management)
  • Exceptional ability to work in a team as well as commitment and flexibility
